Euthanasia (noun) - the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma.
I believe that euthanasia is acceptable in some cases, yet unneeded in others. Euthanasia is most commonly used with animals, because they can get old, or lame, in some way, and our obviously suffering in cases where you can tell they are not getting along too well. That is when euthanasia is appropriate. Killing animals in an animal shelter because they haven't been sold however, is practically a "business technique" to get rid of unwanted products, to put it bluntly. Dealing with humans is different though. Euthanasia in humans is only good if the person can say they are suffering, or if they are unable to say so, that probably means they may be in a vegetative state like a coma, which, by the family's ok, is good. If the person does not have a disease that is incurable, or wants to kill themselves because "their life sucks", or something along those lines, they probably just need some sort of support instead of euthanasia, but they think that killing themselves is the easy way out. That is when euthanasia is not acceptable.
