A long way gone Ch 19-20

I was surprised at the way that Ishmael got to America. I was almost sure that he would go there for school. It also surprised me how much freedom that his uncle gave him, and that he didn’t even know that Ishmael was really going to America until he actually got there. I also noticed that the events that happen in these chapters are really descriptive from Ishmael’s point of view, and he seems to be completely rehabilitated. Furthermore it made me laugh a little when he didn’t know what to do with the elevator. I guess that he never had the chance to use them, but I didn’t expect him to be a little afraid when he went into the elevator. What he thought New York was going to be like was pretty funny too because he thought it would be like the rap songs with everybody going around killing other people. These chapters were probably the happiest in a long time.
